LOG COMPONENTS AND EMBELLISHMENT MATERIALS

Log components are often used to finish and enhance your log home. Common uses are porches and decks, lofts, carports, stairs and ceiling embellishments. Matching log siding is also a very popular addition to certain areas of a log home. Below are some cost guidelines for several of these product areas.

LOG PORCH COMPONENTS

Hand peeled porch posts and headers are available in various sizes. Measure the length of your porch to determine amount of header and number of posts needed. The TABLE below assumes 10' post spacing.

Railing units are pre-assembled and ready for use both outside and indoors. Matching railings for stairs are also available.

PORCH POST & HEADER PRICES ASSUME: - Spruce Pine Logs   cedar available - 6x8, 6x12 & 8x8   home will use   8x8 sq. posts   & headers		RAILING PRICES ASSUME: - 3-1/2" top & bottom rails - pre drilled - 2" pickets - Railing supplied in pre-assembled 10' sections - 7" diam. x 5' log posts (not drilled) - Posts are hand peeled & uniform diameter Stairs use the same components but are not drilled or assembled. Tool for drilling is available. Costs will be less if no intermediate posts are required.
