Permits & Fees

Most States and Counties assess fees for improving property and building a home. States such as Idaho, Montana and Wyoming generally have nominal fees (under $250). Other States such as California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington have higher fees (averaging $5000 to $7500). All jurisdictions are different. Make sure you contact your building and planning departments for their complete fee schedules.
